I'm so happy I got this one done, I finished hand sewing the binding this afternoon! Here's my finished Pezzy quilt:

I went with straight line quilting and did the odd line 1/4" away from the regular spaced ones. I think this makes it a little more interesting

The backing fabric is an old curtain my mum had saved, it was in our playroom when we were little so it has good memories :)

The pattern is By SunFlower quilts and you can get it here. I left off the border and used Bella Solid in Steel for the binding.

My other finish is a first that I've been wanting to try for ages - I made cushions!! Ok I didn't actually make the whole thing - the beautiful Hometown blocks were made by the talented and wonderful Heather at Crafting... I won them in her giveaway in January (hanging my head in shame that it's taken me this long to make them into cushions!!). Partially I think I was so worried I'd ruin them since I've never made cushions and I so adore her blocks!

For the back I used Empire Weave in Dandelion, Heirloom by Joel Dewberry - it goes really nicely! I used this easy and adaptable tutorial by Julie Herman and now don't even know why I was so nervous. It was super simple and I'm thrilled with the results. Thank you Heather for making my house that much prettier :)

Don't they just look stunning on the rocking chair?! My husband had this custom made for me when I was pregnant with our son. I love this chair and my new cushions.

I've joined in with the Retro Flower QAL

Here are my fabric picks:

My scrummy DS fabrics, huge thanks to Deborah once again and the lovely addition from Susan :)
I'm not sure I have quite enough so I might need to add in some solids but whatever I decide I'm sure I'm going to love it!

I'm also planning on getting some embroidery done and maybe adding more hoops to my kids rooms, so of course I needed these:

I ordered these hoops, made in Great Britain, from Sew And So, they arrived well packaged and quickly - wonderful! I am SO hooked on cute embroidery patterns thanks to Sublime Stitching!

Finally I spontaneously decided to cut my hair the other day, hence the new profile picture. I dyed it and then cut myself a fringe (bangs for those in the US)... I didn't cut my fringe, I cut a fringe!! I didn't do too badly for a first attempt considering I'm not a hairdresser,  although I think I already need a trim!

Linking up to Owen's Olivia, Finish It Up Friday at Crazy Mom Quilts and TGIFF, which is at Dreaming in Patchwork this week!
