handy WIP
I have finished hand quilting my Liberty / Architextures cushion:
I used Aurifil wool 12wt in 8942 from a sample pack. It's so soft and works really well with the Liberty Tana Lawn.
So just need to make a back and get it sewn up.
I did some crafting with the kids and their friends yesterday after school. They made hand puppets. Here is Joan's version, I love her style!

Honestly it was a bit annoying, she just wanted to look at and play with the bib rather than eating!!
But I cracked on and made another...
I've had a lot to do this month so in a stroke of genius I made one I'm calling the 'toffee apple bib' since TOFFEE was this months theme on Le Challenge:
You might notice it's not really toffee, just sort of brown but I didn't have any fabric I would call 'toffee' so let's just ignore that ok?! I also thought it might be cute to zig zag stitch the binding down on the back - I machine stitched the first one and it looked great. The zig zag idea just didn't work as well so don't try that at home! I also contemplated adding a stick at the bottom to make it more 'toffee apple like' but it just seemed impractical.
There is a super cute scrap of fabric on the bottom though, even with a little bee and pot of honey toffee!
I'm calling it a win and it's another finish off my FAL list.

owl have some confidence!
The PTA fair went pretty well yesterday. We had fun and I sold a lot of my smaller items and two tooth cushions, including the one on the left below!
I finished these this week and I've listed the yellow owl on my Etsy shop.
These make great gifts for kids and who doesn't love a cute owl?! This is another finish off my FAL list.
Perhaps the best thing was the lovely compliments I got on my makes and it gave me the confidence to open an Etsy shop, something I've wanted to do for a while. I ran with it and opened it last night - huge thanks to my blogging friends that have already shown their support :)

baby bear paw quilt
I got a bear in my bonnet last night and decided I wanted to finish the bear paw quilt.
I had a play around with the layout, I didn't like it all random so I just played with moving the colours:
keeping it real, there were toys all over the floor!
I'm super happy with the end result, I love it.
I used prints from the Stash Stack Club bundles and low volume prints from a swap organised by the lovely Rebecca
The backing is from Winter Wonderland by Jay McCarroll and the binding is McKenzie stripe by Dena Designs.
I can't even remember where I got it and I wish I'd bought tonnes of it because it is so awesome and adds a fun element to the quilt. I like that it sort of looks like a zip too!

And am working on these little dolls:
They just need to be stuffed. I'm thinking they'd be cute on a keychain to hang off a bag or something?!
I was so inspired when I saw the incredible Liberty skittle dolls Jo made and then my mum bought me this magazine:
So I used the basic template from Craftseller and then made a very simple version and attached a ribbon loop.
Even my son seems to love them so hopefully they'll sell!

Then there's those other little things that brighten up your day. The baby is poorly and we've had a hard time of late so when I heard that unmistakeable 'thud' of a package through the door (and don't we all just know when it's fabric?!) I was nursing her and thinking 'I know I've not ordered anything, what could that be?'. Nothing could have surprised me more. The wonderful and very generous Hydee had sent me some gorgeous Hope Valley as a thank you for a package I sent her recently. Now I have to point out I sent her a little bit of fabric and a magazine and she sent me LOADS of this:

or use some awesome LEGO paper pieced patterns by Kristy of Quiet Play to create really fun cushions.
Of course you could make them into whatever you want! Kristy is working on the most epic Lego Star Wars quilt and the paper pieced patterns are available for free in her Craftsy shop.
When she asked for testers I jumped in and snagged these two.
I happen to love Catwoman and I kept the stitching super simple:
I coloured her lips with a Sharpie (I know the new Lego figure has purple lips but in my mind Catwoman screams red) and added a bright border to the cushion:
After really easy and quick paper piecing, Yoda needed a bit more attention:
