winner and info for UK peeps!

The winner of my Sew, Mama, Sew Giveaway is:

(she is 472 - it's that silly counting thing)

Congratulations Michelle! I've sent you an email.

Thanks so much to everyone that entered! I really want to make a chart showing the results of the favourite muppets but seriously that is perhaps a little OCD for a fun giveaway question and as if I have time ;)

In other news the UK Government has gone mad (like it wasn't already!) and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport is proposing that craft is no longer included as part of the creative industries. They consider it to be manufacturing as opposed to 'creative'.

If you would like to petition, please GO HERE.

  1. What? Have they lost their minds? Seriously! It's incredible what decisions the "representatives" of the people make some times.

  2. Lucy! i feel like I have missed so much of what you have been up to! I am trying to adjust to a new schedule and I think I am finally getting into a good rhythm. I am loving the pineapple blocks you shared a few posts ago! Your giveaway clutch is fantastic!

Don't even get me started on the government. I live in the United States, and I will live it at that! Haha!

  5. Lucy, what does that mean? Does it change the way it is taxed or shipping or selling things you've made? Just wondering because ill be there soon, in one month from today. But I don't know how it all works yet!

  7. As an insider, the madness took over years ago, it can no-longer be contained!

  9. "over 88,000 people making a £3bn annual contribution to the UK economy" - probably no coincidence that will look like a significant increase manufacturing jobs...I signed, btw :)

  10. Signed by me and many others I am sure. What a stupid move on the part of the govt and I presume not one of the people making the proposal has ever made something craftwise in their lives!!

  11. I want to thank you so much for the giveaway--I'm so excited that I won. I emailed you 2 days ago with the requested info.

I hate it when the government tries to change something more for their profit :( Craft is not manufacturing at all unless you go large scale. Smaller batches of one of a kind items do not fall in that category at all. Hope that it can all be resolved soon.

  12. All signed up, why is it we have absolutely no real choice in terms of politicians, and it's just a matter of which particular bunch of morons are in charge!?!
