stashing + swaps

28 August 2016

I just couldn't help myself!! Another beautiful package from The Weavers Mill and more scrumptious Liberty. The addiction is real.

I bought 3mm flat faux suede leather cord in light grey, brown and pink2, a square of Wild Perennial A (the bottom fabric) and Wiltshire B (as part of her Thank You offer), some lovely free scrap pieces and a great selection of Liberty bias binding because I have plans!!

It is absolutely stunning and I can't wait to get to the point where this can be added to a quilt I'm working on. I just hope it works out like it looks in my head! Bias binding is the perfect way to inject a little Liberty glamour into projects :)

Next I got some very cool holographic glitter vinyl, impossible to take a good picture of but it's amazing! An Ebay find, click here for the listing - it is the silver glittery option.

My Patchwork of the Crosses BOM box arrived from Sew & Quilt, more gorgeous fabrics:

After my visit to Liberty I shared out some of my new fabrics and Liberty stash with friends on Instagram and here are some of the swaps I have received...

This bundle from @dittanym, some unusual and gorgeous Liberty prints:

A fabulous selection of bright and interesting Liberty prints from @jenniferletchet

Delightful dots galore from @piecedbrain, these are going to be so useful for lots of projects:

Thank you so much Dittany, Jennifer and Denise!! ❤❤❤

Now I should go use some fabric and make something ;)

flying geese and stash

19 October 2014

not the most exciting title but it's been a good week in my quilting world.

Firstly my beautiful 1930s fabric swap fabrics arrived from Missouri Mel and they are absolutely gorgeous! She is fabulous at organising these swaps, I recommend following her or joining the flickr group because it's so worth taking part and I know I would love to be included in the next round. It's a perfect way to get a beautiful selection of 30s fabric and these are destined for my Green Tea and Sweet Beans quilt.

I've also been working this week and couldn't help but snag some of Leah Duncan's new line Gramercy (available online here and here), I got the NY Circuit in Ashen because it's such a perfect low volume print but I'm sure I won't be able to resist some of the other prints too!

And my lovely boss left me a nice treat, a box of white perle thread. I can't get enough of this stuff and we are now stocking Valdini and DMC perle threads at Patchfinders. I am trying to get as many people to try hand quilting with perle as I can!

Le Challenge

Oh and I've just realised that Gramercy print would fit perfectly with the new theme at le challenge. This month the theme is X and there are two great prizes - a $25 gift certificate to the Fat Quarter Shop and your choice of any 25 closed end zips from Rickety Rose Crafts! It's really simple to enter, any finished project (since Oct 15th) that ties in to the X theme can be linked up on November 15th for a random chance to win those prizes! Find out more here.

I was also teaching at Patchfinders this week and, although I didn't manage to photograph them all, here's some of the cushion covers that my class starting making:

We had a lot of fun and I love that they came up with their own patterns for the geese based on the cushion I made.

I have a lot of WIPs on the go but I've begun working on my le challenge project and I'm really pleased with it. In fact it's amped up my creativity and I'm full of ideas, which has really lifted my spirits so yeah for crafting therapy!

Hope you all have a lovely week :)

The Stale Stash Swap begins...

20 March 2012
Charm About You

Happy Spring Equinox! What a better way to celebrate than swapping gorgeous fabric! :)

This is a fun linky fabric party concocted by the wonderful Krista at Krista Stitched and me.

Here are the rules:

- Offer to swap a fat quarter (18" x 22") of good quality quilting cotton fabric.

- You can offer as many as you like but must be willing to swap each one individually, although if someone wants to swap more than one with you obviously that's fine.

- You must be able to swap internationally, if you're swapping one fat quarter the costs shouldn't be too high. Of course you can chose to swap with someone in your own country, just please be open to international swaps. No posts should be limited to only participants of one nation swapping. **I know people are worried about postage costs so that's why I'm trying to limit the fabric amount, please also bear in mind there are slower postage methods you can use that you could arrange with the swaps!!**

- Write a post, add the button to your post by copying the code below into your HTML and link up!!

Charm About You
<div align="center"><a href="http://charmaboutyou.blogspot.com/p/stale-stash-swap.html" title="Charm About You"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7187/6786409246_6c136ef5ff_m.jpg" alt="Charm About You" style="border:none;" /></a></div>

- Once you've swapped please edit your post so it's clear your swap is closed.

You can either ask people if they have specific fabrics you want to swap for in your post or leave it open. When you see some you like let people know what number link you are and see if they want to swap for some of yours.

You can still play if you don't have a blog by checking out the links but you'll have to be able to email pictures or link to a flickr picture of the fabric if people don't know the fabric line already.

The link will stay open for a week so you can check back and offer to swap more if you see something that takes your fancy! It's up to you whether you're quick off the mark to accept swaps or bide your time to see what's out there!

Let's all play nice :)

Here's what I have to swap (I only have one fat quarter of each fabric, the pictures below don't do justice to the colours so you might want to google them! sorry.):

Swirls Twirls (orange), City Blooms by Kitty Yoshida, Benartex

Play Dot (grey/pink), Sherbet Pips by Aneela Hoey, Moda

Chinese Lanterns (grass), Lark by Amy Butler, Westminster SWAPPED!

Souvenir (lemon), Lark by Amy Butler, Westminster SWAPPED!

Cobblestone (charcoal), Palladium by Dear Stella SWAPPED!

Hugs and Kisses (scotch), Loulouthi by Anna Maria Horner, Westminster  SWAPPED!

Hedgehogs (yellow), Outfoxed by Lizzy House, Andover  SWAPPED!

Just so we're clear these are fabrics I love, have and will use!! I just maybe had a bit too much.

If you want to swap with me for any of these fabrics let me know and show me what you've got, just leave a comment below! Also, I'm not promising, but if I have enough of any fabric I've used in a project you've seen on my blog that you like, ask me about it and I might be persuaded to swap for something lovely!

Happy Swapping!
