My make up needed a new home, somewhere I could chuck it after slapping it all on in the morning ;)
I wanted it to be easy to reach, easy to see and in something cute to look at. When I saw this Fabric Basket Tutorial by Amy Smart I knew it would be perfect.
Here's what I was using before, I never travel so it's just sad and I always had to pour everything out to find what I was looking for! (This isn't all my make up, I have draws and boxes full too - this is just the stuff I use most)
Now I have cute 80s kitties and fun geometric print to look at :) and another check off my Finish-Along list.
Fabrics from Miss Matatabi - Outside fabric: Love Cats by Lecien Retro Lining: Geometric Lines in pink (there are other colours available here)
I think this basket will make me smile in the morning!
I adore cute Japanese prints and you can get 30% off at Pink Castle Fabrics today (hurry! I stopped writing this so I could get my order in). Use code JAPAN30 Sorry the code has expired but you can see all in stock Japanese prints HERE.
We got the new Lewis and Irene range 'A Little Bird Told Me' in at Patchfinders, it's really pretty! I had to take some home with me:
Left to right: An older Hoffman print (not sure what it's called), Geo and Tea and Geo on Spring Yellow, A Little Bird Told Me by Lewis and Irene.
And I got some yummy fabrics from the Fat Quarter Shop for an upcoming project:
left to right: Linen Shibuya, Tokyo Train Ride by Sarah Watts; White Lined Grids, Doe by Carolyn Friendlander and Petite Plus, Black & White by Cotton + Steel
It was a bank holiday weekend here in the UK so I am enjoyed a nice long weekend with this wild bunch:
Hope you enjoyed your weekend too!

OMG! Love the little basket, but I love, love the lining! I think I have a thing about neon!!
Lovely basket. Always like to nosy as to what make up other people have. Loving the kiddie pics too. How can you not have some bank holiday fun with that bunch?!
That is a superb basket, gorgeous fabric and shape, do you have to keep it out of reach of children though, I can just imagine mine getting the contents out and playing with it all!
Love the basket and your kids look a lively bunch! Hope you survive the weekend
