July felt a bit meh to me. Loved what I've made but feel like I could have made more progress, though I probably always feel that way. I think there's a severe lack of actual quilts, I love small makes but it's not as satisfying as a quilt finish.
I finished a buggy bag for us to carry nappies etc in, a buggy liner for a friend, a tea towel for new neighbours and scrappy cards for anyone I think deserves one.
My favourite finish has to be my foot stool, every time I use it I smile:
I did manage a couple of other finishes this past couple of days, both commissions.
The first was on my FAL list, two sweet dresses made from Tula Pink fabric - which is just perfect!
An embroidered cushion, which was ordered by a returning customer - that's such a great feeling.
Then I finally got my July Bee a Brit Stingy bee blocks sent off to Charlotte today, made using her brilliant tutorial:
I hope she loves them, if not she can send them back to me because I do!
Actually writing this post has made me feel a little less meh. I think having 3 kids at home all the time (especially on a rainy day like today) means that when it gets to the evening I just feel like lying in a darkened room, alone and in silence. I may well do that but there's sewing to do and I'm working on whipping up some samples for classes I will be teaching. This is a fabric pull for a cushion I'm planning:
I'm excited about it and fingers crossed it works as I hope!
I have finished my rose star quilt top but between the kids and the rain I've not been able to get a proper photo yet, hopefully I can share it with you soon.

Lots of fabulous finishes! What pattern did you use for the dresses? They are simply adorable!
I love your finishes, especially that foot stool!!
That fabric pull is gorgeous!!!
Visiting from Fresh Sewing Day. I completely understand not feeling as satisfied without a quilt finish. However, you made a LOT of things! And they are super cute. I think that foot stool may be my favorite too! Did you use a pattern? I am currently in need of a foot stool as well. Also, I love your fabric picks. I think that cushion will turn out wonderfully. Denyse Schmidt (esp those DS) is fabulous. It will be beautiful!
From here it looks like a great month, having the children around more during the day certainly puts a different spin on things. Here's hoping the rains not here for long.
I don't know how you managed half of this in a month, especially with three small children! Love that footstool!
P.S. I really can't wait to see the RS top!
3 kids 24/7 is wiping me out (they are off to my parents tomorrow for a couple of days and I cannot wait!!!). Nice bunch of makes despite the cabin fever.
That cushion is bound to be amazing xxx
You do an amazing job Lucy! Do not sell yourself short! That footstool is wonderful as are those cute dresses! Great job all round!
I know what you mean! You've accomplished a lot this month though -- kudos! Love, love, love that footstool!
I'd say it was quite a productive month. I LOVE that footstool!!!!!!!!
I only have 2 kids and I often spend the evenings of school holidays lying on the couch doing nothing! Little makes are definitely the way to go at this time!
Awesome finshes! I'm not sure how you could feel meh in the month you made the super love pouf!
Lots of pretties even if there is no quilt finish. Just wait until the children are back at school. I'm just back from Suffolk with 2 of the grandchildren and know what you mean about darkened rooms/lying down. Exhausted!
don't be so hard on yourself! You have some super finishes, and you have three gorgeous kids, and are in a dream job, and STILL coping! you are a star! That is official! xx
Some pretty makes! Doesn't look like bad month.
The footstool is FAB-U-LOUS :)
your cushion will be stunning!! you are a busy mum with a part time job so I think you are doing amazingly well! Can't wait to see your class sample xx
Eat some chocolate :) I hope you enjoy your teaching - I love teaching. I wish I could be home doing nothing but homelife, blog and sewing, but - oh hang on, I am doing that. but only until I find a job that pays the mortgage... Love your finishes. That pouffe is fab. Is one still allowed to call it that?! ;)
Mmmmmm, a darkened room. Wouldn't that be bliss? Unfortunately number three goes everywhere I go (still in gestation) so I have three months until I can completely escape the kids for even two mins!
Loads of lovely finishes this month, but what I really want to see is that rose star top!!!
I know what you mean about a quilt finish. I have been doing smaller items for the past week and I am itching to get back to working on a quilt. I think you had a super productive July, and I am excited for the classes you will be teaching! :)
You have 3 young children AND a part time job: the fact that you do any sewing is an amazing achievement!!
I must love your giant hexie! And those dresses
Just catching up (again) you had a fab month, even if the kids are now wearing you out entirely, and love the new specs!
What you have finished is gorgeous- this is why I don't take part in Fresh Sewing Day- I'm pretty sure I've done tons but most of it I can't show anyway!
Ooh the Rosestar top is done! Bowing low to the mistress of RS! Love all your finishes - such a fabulous variety
