when we all say 'where did May go?'! I don't know but it was a good month of sewing...
Tiny Dancer quilt, 'bow tie' hair clip bag, oven glove, headband, English Paper Pieced pincushion, thread basket - I've done well making useful things this month!
As I was looking through my makes I realised there's been a couple of things I haven't blogged about...
I made a drawstring play mat for my son's best friend. He is using it to keep Lego in!
I used the fabulous pattern by Tickle and Hide. It really is a great pattern, full of wonderful tips and this came together so easily. I did add a popper to the sides that meet so the top would close and Lego wouldn't spill out! The fabric is from Terrys Fabrics and is home dec weight so it should withstand some wear and tear! I used Sail Stripe in Marine and Panama in Red.
For some reason I took pictures before I did the appliqué (I think I was excited!) but I did blanket stitch Lego on one side and needle turned a Lego head with embroidered eyes and mouth on the other.
I also completed an order for another custom personalised reward chart in pretty pinks:
Yesterday I got the amazing news that I have won a prize in the Hand Quilting category of the Blogger's Choice Festival for my Bees of a Feather Quilt. Many thanks to everyone that voted and congratulations to my bloggy friends that also won! It was a lot of fun seeing all the incredible talent and beautiful quilts in the festival. Thanks again to Amy for organising the event!

wellll you certainly had my vote...it is a very honourable win
Mine, too: great minds think alike! Congratulations.
Congratulations on the very deserved win!!!!
And gorgeous makes! That lego playmate is a mothers life saver, my husband thinks after nearly 10 years of treading on lego we could run across hot coals without feeling it!!!
What a beautiful month, and congratulations on the win for that spectacular quilt!
congratulations on your beautiful quilt!!!!!
Great month! And congratulations to you :-)
I love the idea of a drawstring playmat for Lego - we used to tip it out and then spend about an hour packing it away again. Ingenious!
Love the mat and the quilt of course! Well done Lucy I think you are fabulous!
Congrats on winning a prize!!!!! I was really happy that the 2 quilts I voted for both won prizes. xx
Congratulations on the win! It's a lovely quilt! I like the Lego play mat/bag, great idea! We just end up with Lego all over the floor and use a dustpan to collect it together when I have had enough of it lying around!
Congratulations on a well deserved win!!! Your quilt was definitely in my top three favorites! xoxo
Well done, on all accounts xxx
Congrats on the win! Fabulous finishes this month!
Oh huge congratulations on the Feather quilt - so beautiful and so deserved! I love your May makes and especially the Lego head :)
I was thrilled when I saw you had won. Great way of finishing off a terrific month.
Congrats on winning in the hand quilting category. I think the quilt is lovely with all the feathers. I think the toy mat is a great idea. I am not sure what a popper is, but it sounds handy. I think the reward chart is so practical - wish I had made one for each of my girls when they were little. Thanks for posting. I hope I get as much done in June as you did in May.
Love the lego bag! I need one of these at my house!
the lego bag is a brilliant idea, I have never seen a bag like that. and well done with the win, it is still my favourite quilt you have done and one of the first I saw online that I really liked.

Congrats on the win for your lovely feather quilt! Mine is still in blocks but I hope to get it done soon:)
What a great sewing month! I don't think I touched my machine. June and July aren't looking good either. I'm just not loving the quilt I'm working on. It's a shame coz I love the fabric and pattern, but it's not exciting me to make it. Weird. In other news, we're in the process of buying a house so cleaning out now and moving in July. Hence the no sewing, but I can't wait to own our own home again!
