The hand quilting is going well.
Most of my time, however, is now being spent trying to think of ways to STOP Lois from walking!! She's only six months old and this is her new trick, cruising along the sofa.
I love that little tongue sticking out with determination.
So while I'm busy why not go shopping...
Have you seen my sponsor ChristaQuilts is having an incredible sale, making way for new stock of modern fabrics. There's lots of gorgeous fabric on sale with up to 50% off. You can get great discounts on lots of lines including Amy Butler and even the new Happy Go Lucky!!

I have my fingers crossed and am chanting 'everything happens for a reason', believing positive things must be on their way after a bout of crapness.
Head down sewing time is good therapy and achieving something feels great!
Here's Sheila's blocks for the Bee A Brit Stingy Bee (I promise they are straight, just my bad rushed photography)
and Alice's block for the Amaranth group in Simply Solids Bee
Then last night I had a workout. Seriously. Hands and knees basting with pins in this heat?!! It was like some crazy hot yoga class. I had already given my arms a workout by marking the quilt with my hera marker but it had to get basted or we'd have no living room!

Yesterday was my son's last day at Reception so of course that meant gifts for the teachers. For his class teacher I made this cushion with a bit of hand stitching
And then we made all the teaching staff in his class these lavender (from our garden) stuffed hearts:
So it's 'hello summer' and I'm dreaming about some lovely fabrics!
Like the totally gorgeous 30's Playtime at the Fat Quarter Shop
I'm hoping fabric fairies magically send me some of this!
Prints to Polka Dots have now got Geekly Chic in stock, as well as a great sale going on.
Fluffy Sheep Quilting has these cute Little Matroyshka Dolls and Clocks on sale, as well as other gorgeous prints.

Neither of those sounds right does it?!
I also used Cross Hatch in White from Architextures by Carolyn Friedlander.
The backing fabric is Hop Dot in Olive from Nicey Jane by Heather Bailey (this is one of my favourite ever prints and I love all the colour ways!)
Hand quilted in Aurifil wool 12wt in 8942.

Like most of the UK, including our roads (!!), I am melting.
There is less sewing going on here as a result of the hot weather - I also now have new found respect for those of you who sew and quilt in hot climes.
Here's what we've been doing the past few days instead:
In addition my sewing has been curtailed by the fact that Lois is officially on the move, she started crawling properly last week - this is what my view of her is like now:
and while crawling round the garden I noticed this is the grip stuff on my kids see-saw
glider (I looked that up, it's meant to be called a glider but that sounds silly, I'm sticking with see saw!). I'm taking it as a sign I should smile more :)
