I have begun hand sewing the binding on the huge May quilt and as my friend Rachael suggested I'm taking it one stitch at a time... only a million more to go ;)

  6. I actually love hand binding as well. I think I really just enjoy hand sewing/quilting in general. I have two little boys and a husband that prefer hand sewing as well, because it means I am not down in my sewing room, I can be with them and do it at the same time!

  7. I'm too impatient to hand sew most bindings( I do occasionally do it), so well done for even starting!

  8. Yup, one stitch at a time! Your photo reminds me of something....in the last year or so I've started zig zagging the edges of my quilts after attaching the binding and before hand stitching to the back. It totally keeps those loose threads in check and makes the binding process SO much easier. Or maybe those threads don't drive you as crazy as they drive me!!

  14. I find myself saying that binding is my fave part too, but in reality, sometimes it can be a chore if you are time pressed.
