embroidery on the sofa

I'm linking up to Finish It Up Friday at Crazy Mom Quilts, This Week at Love Affair with my Brother and TGIFF, which is at The Nifty Stitcher this week

Thank you all for your recent well wishes, I'm feeling much better although the antibiotics have left me exhausted. The kids are still poorly but hopefully the arrival of Grandma and Auntie later today will lift their spirits!

During sofa time this week I managed to finish a little embroidery for my son, just need to get the right sized hoops to hang it up! The cute pattern is from Sublime Stitching, I let him pick all the elements he wanted to go in his picture :)

I used variegated thread for the tree, so it looks like light or a random sideways snow fall!! Oh well, he calls it his christmas tree and that's fine by me! He even did some of the stitches in it (with help!)
You can't really tell from the picture but I used some shiny rayon for the bees wings so in real life they look more lustrous.

Also just before I got ill I made a baby taggy blanket for one of the parents at school who just had a baby girl:

I also got a nice bit of post, some stationery bits from Riky and Nina, how cute are these?! I even love the paper bag it came in

I have some things to make for Sunday and need to press on with the Stained QAL, my first block is hanging on my wall willing me to make it some friends!!

This weekend we'll mostly be celebrating St Patrick's Day, Mother's Day and my son's 4th birthday with friends and family so sewing might have to wait a little longer.

Top of the 'get it done' list though is cutting some FQs for the Stale Stash Swap, which starts on Tuesday!! :)

Oh, Lucy! It's so cute! And how precious that he helped stitch it. Get to feeling better this weekend. Lots of rest is on the agenda for my two. Both went back to school, but are still a little puny-looking.
